The emergence of Windows 8 along with the development of the segment of ultrabooks led to an explosive growth in the number of formats of mobile PCs. Over the past year, only laptops have not been presented: a variety of transformers, sliders, and even completely Windows-tablets with a removable keyboard. Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 belongs to the latter category, although the manufacturer persistently calls the keyboard "port-replicator". Apparently, the long experience of producing corporate laptops is affected.
Formally Stylistic Q702 – a tablet to which you can "fasten" the keyboard. This scheme is not new and has already been well tested on tablets both with Android (series Asus Eee Pad Transformer ), and with Windows 8 ( Samsung ATIV ).
Case Stylistic Q702 is made of plastic, the back panel is painted in gray. The surface of the device is matte, therefore it is not afraid of fingerprints. It is noteworthy that the protective glass at the display is also opaque, which nowadays happens quite rarely – usually the touch screen closes the mark and glare glass. The manufacturer tried to take out the most frequently used connectors on the side panels of the tablet, leaving a variety of atavisms to the port replicator. In general, even without a fastened keyboard, communication capabilities Stylistic Q702 are quite wide. But without annoying punctures was not done. For example, the seat for the pen is in the dock, although it's much more logical to make it in the tablet. Directly to the tablet, the pen can only be tied with a lanyard, for which an ear is provided, but this solution can not be called convenient.
On the front side, above the display, sheltered webcam, as well as an ambient light sensor. Traditionally, the Windows key is located under the display. There is nothing more interesting – except for the already mentioned above matte coating of the screen – there is not.
On the back side of the tablet, oddly enough, several useful elements are revealed. Here are a fingerprint sensor, a camera with a resolution of 5 megapixels and a tiny cop of forced reboot.
You can connect the keyboard to the tablet with one hand – nothing complicated in this operation. The mechanism for attaching the keyboard to the Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 is exactly the same as that of its competitors, without any special features.
In front of the docking station there is only a trio of LED indicators for the status of the hard drive and two batteries, all the ports and connectors are concentrated on the side faces. On the left there is a USB 2.0 port and D-SUB, which is especially pleased with corporate users. On the right – another joy for fans of harsh corporate solutions – Ethernet port. Also on the right side is the nest for the stylus and the extraction key.
There is nothing interesting on the back of the keyboard, except for a removable battery.
Fujitsu states that the docking station keyboard is full-sized. Let's just say that the manufacturer got a little excited. The width of the letter key is 14.3 mm, which is close to the "full size", but still significantly smaller, so at first, when blindly typed, there are occasional misses. In addition, it catches the eye even though closed by a plastic plug, but still a strange looking "hole" on the row below the Enter button.
The keyboard flexes only under strong pressure, however, during normal operation such a "deflection" will not be noticeable. The move of the keys of medium stiffness, the moment of operation is well felt, besides the keyboard is practically silent.
Under it is a tiny touch panel – the size of 69.5 × 42.5 mm. The touchpad keys are located separately, the size of each of them is 33×13 mm. The key stroke is short, hard and noisy. Above the keyboard there are only three Lock-key indicators.
