Founded in the near 2011, the young Chinese company Wibtek by the present moment managed to increase the production of its main products, motherboards, to ten million pieces per year, supplying them to more than thirty countries around the world. In our country this manufacturer is almost unknown, although Wibtek products are easy to find in many domestic stores. It's not just about motherboards, but also about end products, such as mini-computers, tablets and monoblocks. The official website of Wibtek says that the company has become the largest partner for AIO for Intel which recently actively promotes a new subspecies of these devices – adaptive monoblocks. From conventional monoblocks, these models are distinguished by the presence of a built-in rechargeable battery, which gives the user some freedom of movement with the device. Of course, with a monoblock under your arm, you can not walk around the city. First, it is not very convenient, and, secondly, the capacity of the built-in battery is not designed for permanent autonomous work. But moving within the apartment is easy.
One such adaptive monoblock, Wibtek X22S N2807, came to our test lab. This is one of the seventy devices of this type in the Wibtek range, which is divided into three large series – few manufacturers can boast of such variety.
A pre-sale sample came to us for testing, the box of which was badly damaged. Inside, in addition to the device itself, only a power adapter with a removable power cable was found. Judging by the official specification, the end user will receive about the same package of supplies – with the only exception that it will still include a printed user manual.
The information on the processor and a set of microcircuits
The Wibtek X22S N2807 monoblock is built on the Intel Bay Trail-M platform, which indicates its limited performance, as this platform is designed for entry-level notebooks and similar nettops. The heart of the system is the Intel Celeron N2807 processor, manufactured using 22nm technology with Silvermont architecture. It is noteworthy that the manufacturer of the processor model even decided to reflect in the name of the model. Its base clock frequency is 1.58 GHz, but it can increase to 2.16 GHz. The cache size of the second level is 1 Mbyte, and the TDP level does not exceed 4.3 W, due to which the processor manages the passive cooling system.
The Intel Celeron N2807 processor has a single-channel DDR3L-1333 memory controller. On the monoblock motherboard there is a single SO-DIMM slot in which the DDR3L-1600 Kingston HyperX HX316LS9IB / 4 module with a capacity of 4 GB is installed. This is the maximum possible volume with which the system logic works, so that it is not possible to increase it.
Information about the integrated video adapter
The Intel Celeron N2807 integrates the Intel HD Graphics graphics core, which has only four executive devices and operates at a base clock frequency of 313 MHz with a possible increase to 750 MHz. A discrete video adapter from Wibtek X22S N2807 is not provided. On the monoblock, there is a video output HDMI, which allows you to connect an external monitor to it.
The disk subsystem of the monoblock is represented by one 2.5-inch hard disk WD5000LPVX belonging to the Blue-series of the company Western Digital . The drive is connected via a SATA 6 Gb / s interface, has 8 MB of cache memory and a spindle speed of 5400 rpm. The capacity of the drive is 500 GB (465 GB available). By default, the disk was divided into two main user partitions in the ratio of 26% (system partition) and 74%. Another 527 MB is allocated for system areas and recovery partition. In addition, the motherboard has a Mini PCI Express slot in which you can install the appropriate mSATA media on your own.
The monoblock is equipped with a reader for flash cards formats SD / MMC. For connection of external storage media two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 are provided. The audio system is represented by the widely distributed Realtek ALC662 module, which works with HD Audio. For connection of headphones and microphone, standard 3.5 mm jacks are used. Well and for a conclusion of a sound directly from a monoblock on its board are placed stereodynamics.
Onboard the monoblock, a Gigabit LAN controller Realtek RTL8111E is installed, connected to the PCI Express bus (x1). In addition, the Wibtek X22S N2807 has a dual-band wireless module Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, which includes a Wi-Fi 802.11 ac / a / b / g / n controller operating in 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz , As well as the Bluetooth 4.0 controller.
Despite the special position among simple monoblocks, the Wibtek X22S N2807 is made in the classic form factor for this type of device. The device rests on the surface of the table directly by the body and a folding support fixed to the rear. The case of the novelty is completely made of plastic. The front panel under the monitor and the side surfaces are painted in silver, and the rear relief panel is made snow-white. The monoblock display is covered with a protective glossy glass, and around it there is a wide enough frame of black color. The presence of the three primary colors makes the candy bar monotonous, so that it is not necessary to speak about some refined style in this case.
The front panel, in addition to the 21.5-inch display with a touch surface, carries a web camera, traditionally located at the top, speakers located at the very bottom, and a small control unit with LED indicators to the right of the user. It consists of buttons for adjusting the brightness of the display, turning off the image and power management, and also three blue LED indicators that inform the user about the power mode and the activity of the disk subsystem.
In the fully folded position, the support does not protrude beyond the dimensions of the shell, but fits into the opening specially designed for it. In the opened position, the support can be deflected to any angle, but there is one position at which the fixation takes place. This is the minimum value of the angle at which the monoblock display plane deviates approximately 10 degrees from the vertical.
In spite of the fact that the back cover of the monoblock is plastic, there are fastening points (embedded metal nuts) for mounting the device to the wall. They are located in the protruding part of the case with numerous ventilation openings, in which there is a motherboard with all hardware components. In the lower part, under the support, the power supply connector, RJ-45 network port, USB 3.0 port, HDMI video output and a flash card reader are sheltered. The location of the latter can not be called successful, since it will have to be used to touch. Two more USB ports, only 2.0 specifications, are located on the side of the projecting part, along with a pair of audio connectors for connecting headphones and a microphone. To these interfaces, unlike the previous set, it's not difficult to get at all. In general, the appearance of the monoblock is laconic and simple. For many, this design may seem too poor, but the device fits easily into any modern interior, which in itself is already quite good.
To get to the Wibtek X22S N2807 motherboard, you need to unscrew just two screws on the back of the case, then slide it down and remove it. All the main hardware components of the novelties are located in the central part of the case. With the cover removed, there is access to each internal component, so it will not be difficult to replace the memory module or the battery, or add the mSATA SSD module.
The motherboard and hard drive in metal skids are fixed to the body with screws, but the battery is held on three pieces of adhesive tape – not the most durable solution. Absolutely all the cables are fixed with the same adhesive tape.
