The GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti, based on the GP107 chip, as their immediate predecessors in this niche – the GeForce GTX 750/750 Ti, have a power consumption of 75 watts. In the GeForce 900 line, the base level of performance for gaming accelerators is not combined with equally high energy efficiency, since the GeForce GTX 950 based on the partially blocked GM206 chip is not the same as the GTX 750 Ti with the compact fully functional core of the GM107. Thus, the GTX 1050/1050 Ti, unlike other models of the 10th series, from the architectural point of view represents a step not one thing, but one and a half generations ahead.
Thermal package of 75 watts allowed NVIDIA partners to equip GP107 graphics cards with a simple and compact (as an option, even a passive) cooling system and in many cases do without an additional power connector. Add to this the new multimedia capabilities of Pascal (HEVC hardware codec, HDMI 2.0b video interfaces and DisplayPort 1.3 / 1.4), and an interesting offer for an entry-level gaming PC or HTPC (Home Theater PC).
In their category, video cards based on the GP107 compete with the Radeon RX 460, whose versions, carrying 2 and 4 GB of RAM, are inferior in performance to the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti, respectively, but they are cheaper. However, on the side of Pascal architecture there is another advantage – the overclocking potential of graphics processors. In this regard, the GP107 chip itself sets hopes, but the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, lacking an additional power connector, does not exist.
But it is too early to draw definitive conclusions. In the review of GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti we studied the versions of these models from MSI with a simple printed circuit board of original design and power from the PCI-Express bus. Today we will be engaged in the GTX 1050 Ti manufactured by Inno3D, which is based on a reference card manufactured by NVIDIA. And in the following reviews, let’s move on to video cards with an additional power connector.
Like many GP107-based accelerators, the Inno3D GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Twin X2 operates at reference frequencies, which in itself is never an obstacle to the successful overclocking of the video card, but always speaks of the low price of the device among its like. Indeed, in the Moscow retail, the Inno3D GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Twin X2 is even slightly less than the recommended NVIDIA at the time of the model’s price .

At such cheapness it is not surprising that the only element of the video card delivery kit is a disk with drivers and software. There are no keys to free copies of games here either.
Inno3D offers models GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti in two versions – Twin X2 and Compact. The difference between them is reduced to a cooling system. If in the Compact version the cooler corresponds to the size of the PCB, a larger radiator is installed in the Twin X2, part of which, covered by a plastic cover, protrudes beyond the textolite.
The radiator is a simple aluminum blank with twisted ribs. The air is pumped by a pair of fans on ball bearings.
The voltage converter on the video card includes only three phases – two for the GPU and one for the memory chips. Samsung chips with the label K4G80325FB-HC28 operate at their nominal effective frequency of 7 GHz. The board carries three connectors for image output – Dual Link DVI-D, DisplayPort 1.3 / 1.4 and HDMI 2.0b.
